With a background in organizational leadership, talent development, and marketing, Slater Heglin serves as Assistant Vice President – Marketing and Development Manager at Grant County Bank in Southwest Kansas, where he leads marketing, employee development, and organizational development initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Education with a concentration in Talent Development and a Master of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University.
Within the Kansas SHRM State Council, Slater serves as the College Relations and Emerging Professionals Director and Chair of the Student Experience Committee. He previously served as President of the SHRM at Fort Hays State University Chapter for two years, helping grow chapter membership by more than 60% and leading both domestic and international HR experiences for students. He is also the Founder and President of Keep Life Jumping 4 Kay, Inc., a nonprofit supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer and grief. Slater was honored with the 2025 Kansas SHRM Rising Star Award for his contributions to the HR profession and commitment to developing the next generation of HR professionals.
