Session Description:

As AI evolves from a “future trend” to a daily necessity, HR professionals must move beyond theory and into practical application. This interactive skills workshop is designed to bridge the gap between AI curiosity and HR competency. Attendees will follow-along using their own devices to work through real-world HR scenarios, ranging from talent acquisition to employee relations, using a variety of generative and specialized AI tools. We will focus on “prompt engineering” for HR, maintaining data privacy, and leveraging mobile AI for on-the-go productivity.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Construct “Structured Prompts” to generate compliant job descriptions and interview rubrics that reduce administrative load (SHRM Competency: HR Expertise).
  2. Utilize Mobile AI Voice Interface to role-play and prepare for difficult employee conversations or performance reviews (SHRM Competency:Communication).
  3. Analyze Employee Sentiment Data using AI to identify workplace trends and retention risks from raw survey text (SHRM Competency: Analytical Aptitude).
  4. Evaluate AI Ethical Risks, specifically regarding PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and algorithmic bias (SHRM Competency: Ethical Practice).

***We will use tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Studio. Attendees are highly recommend (although not required) to bring their own devices (phone and/or laptop) to follow along, as the presenter demos each tool.
